Second chance in life ! While we don't have a fozmafia photographer in Perth, we told Brad to send in anything he had and we will share the story best we can from there. We hope you enjoy this first chapter of Brad's build. - - - Brad's story is almost like yours or mine (Keyword: Almost). Stock SF5 GT 2002 Forester, so innocent and so stock upon purchase by Brad. Have a good look before you read on through the rest of the feature. stock After enjoying her in the pure intended form Brad discovered he had a mild case of mod-bug, so to maintain his condition a quick fix of upping the boost was applied, to only fire back with a POP! Wasting no time Brad knew a slightly more serious solution was in order by inserting a 207 stock motor which gave this foz another chance in life. block While foz was alive and did it's job of getting from A to B , Brad was not too happy about her tired body and decided that she needed a freshen up to compliment her second chance in life. rub down While in primer, this was a perfect excuse to further give her that deserved facelift. So Brad went with the liberal kit, as well as moulded in oem flares and painted door-jams at the same time. Wheels + front mount went in as a staple bonus. garage Finally it was time for the well deserved fresh coat of paint! trailer boothbooth2booth3done2done3 chilling So she looks fresh, goes ... good, but could go faster. Brad's voyage progressed in search of more power! RWD centre spool went in and the twist mount Chinese 35R turbo also, feeding the mix with e85 swap. As you would guess China 35R snail didn't last very long, so a precision 5862 went in to produce a healthy 412hp to the rear wheels. Stealthy HID lights were also thrown in by Brad to keep sane while playing with the motor. Forget your fidget spinners, HID kit with fish-eye lens is where its at to keep the nerves down. engine1 engine2 engine3 At this stage Brad has made a decision that Forester would be a more suited roll racing build rather than a street car project. Currently interior is gutted, fiberglass guards installed and roll-cage is about to go in. New motor is also in the shadows but Brad refused to tell us of any details on what is yet to come with that build. All that he could say however is that it will be aimed at cracking 10 second passes down the 1/4. By Tony Moores.   Fastest Foz in Australia? That's a bold claim but we've yet to have anyone come forward and dispute it. Several weeks ago Scott Diver from Ichiban Imports in Sydney claimed the unofficial title at WSID with a 10.894 pass @ 124.83 MPH.  What's more staggering is that this foz is running a stock factory forged EJ207 short motor. Always looking to achieve bang for buck, Scott set out to build a car that could achieve a 10 second pass for 10k or less. This project became known as "Ten for Tens". Scott originally chose a 99 WRX for the task but about 75% through the process it was purchased from him by yours truly! Watermark635784499765023137 An SF5 GT Forester happened into Scott's possession and he thought it would be awesome to see if he could do it in the foz and we are very grateful he did. The Toaster resemblance would surely hinder its ability to cut through the air as well as a sedan? Seemingly not. The foz has a factory 207 forged short motor, 99 WRX heads, 256 cams, a GT Pumps SO3.5 Turbo, PSR UEL Headers, 6 Speed STI box with Stage 2 Clutch, Haltech Elite ECU, ID1000 Injectors and Walbro 460 fuel pump. Oh and then there's the gas.... a 75 shot of Nitrous helps get things moving along. Watermark635784513980744407 Wheels are 17 x 9 Enkei RPF 1's shod with Federal RSRR Rubber. Suspension is handled by a set of BC ER  coilovers as the Foz sees regular circuit duty, currently running 1:08's around Wakefield Park.   Watermark635784499967386638 The car currently runs 282awkw on E85 and 327kw with the nitrous flowing-Tuned by Adam Neish from JEM in Ingleburn. Event #4. Cruise to Cataract Damn for a BBQ meet.

This however did not stop 30+ foresters coming out for a great family oriented event. e7b229_75db518a452447a297e34c64b160b8e1.jpg_srb_p_803_535_75_22_0.50_1.20_0.00_jpg_srb We have chosen a spot which I only remembered from my childhood days when our family would pack the food on a Saturday and go chill/cook food there for a whole day. Huge car park, electronic BBQ facility, kids play-ground and great fresh air at Cataract damn (NSW - Australia). This also celebrated fozmafia familia growing past 1000 members world wide! e7b229_6cc9cb87b0a44fa5a74bb4fe1dff89b0.jpg_srb_p_803_535_75_22_0.50_1.20_0.00_jpg_srb Chosen as this place was once again different from your typical local meets/cruise destinations meaning any unwanted attention would be avoided... On the day we have went through 7kg of meat sausages, 4 x loafs of bread, 2 x bags of freshly baked bread rolls (40x rolls) which were baked on the day and  picked up shortly after they got out of the oven, still hot. Not to mention 40+ drinks. Third meet/cruise/eat at Robertson pie shop.

11701085_1141959599153207_8476591213236190537_n 28/6/15 As always, everyone was on their best behavior, trouble free event. Weather held up well with everyone having a great time as expected. First meet point saw an easy 20 foresters already lined up when clock hit 10.30am with no late arrivals which was very good to see. Then was the easy cruise down to the second meet point where we saw another easy 4ish foresters or so (Locals decided to leave as soon as we rocked up, so couldn't count). On the way to the national pass we passed a huge group of Skylines, Supras and Evos. Who all turned around with the forester convoy slowly rolling by , which was almost an enemy stare-off. Making our way through the twists was fun as always without any dramas or heroes trying to wipe people out. 11665606_1141959579153209_640046134098330358_n Robertson pie shop was the final stop where we finally parked in a line before making our way inside to feast on Sydney's best freshly baked pies. Great food, great cars and very friendly fellow forester owners, what else would one ask for. Second meet/cruise/bbq.

1 7/2/15 After our first meet, it was evident that we like... good company of people, awesome cars and most importantly FOOD! So a BBQ was definitely on the cards. To make things interesting we decided to brake out of the norm and go visit the forest with our foresters... Rather than just another car-park gathering, a nice relaxing drive was exactly what everyone was after. Meeting point didn't disappoint with around 20 cars rocking up on a Saturday sunny morning. Drinks packed, fresh meat in the esky chilling with ice, and a bag of fresh bread, we were ready to roll!! Cruising the M31 Hume Highway is always a refreshing experience, as you pass the scenic country fields, thriving wineries and good hour of smooth driving. Once we arrived to the Penrose State Forest rest area it was great to see once again everyone mingling with no one left to the side. 3 After BBQ was cooked and everyone feeling full , it was time for some pics. This forest is very unique with it's red dusty roads, green lushes pine trees and thick grown flora, which made way for amazing shots taken by one of our admins Mat P. First meet/greet/lunch.

This first meet report is going to be little larger than future events, simply as its our first, so buckle in and sip on some tea/coffee. When we created fozmafia facebook group on 18/12/14 we really were unsure which way things would go as initially it was a group for a couple of mates who owned a Subaru Forester (A car that you tell your other half you are getting to settle down as you are getting more serious with life ... ;) ). Within the first 3 days of going live, 300 members clicked over with ease, showing us that people had interest in what we had to offer as a community. Shortly after people started asking for a "meet" their request was met with a FOZMAFIA FIRST MEET/GREET/LUNCH 2015 event in the notifications. rex (1 of 1) copy Appin Hotel was the choice as a central location since a good number of members were from Sydney's south west and Wollongong, so we said why not. rex (2 of 23) copy As with any car meet, it's such a lottery gamble. You can have only two cars show up or you can have 100. To our surprise around 30 foresters were flooding the Hotel car park with people having a chat with other owners who they have never met before, creating a really layed back atmosphere. It was great to see SF, SG, SH foresters with various styling genres in one place all getting along. rex (3 of 23) copy Once kitchen was open in Appin Hotel our little army has dominated the dining area instantly , from teens to families with kids, which has shown that age greatly varies with a forester owner. A "Slam Dunk" is what Blake Wotton has achieved with his SH9 XT.

After purchasing the car completely stock 2 years ago, Blake has travelled the endless modification path culminating in one of Australia's finest examples of the model. Now toting a recently implanted new, forged engine courtesy of the spanner men at Ichiban Imports, this Foz will be sure to put out some respectable killer wasps and surprise many an Evo or WRX Driver. Not willing to settle on a built motor alone, Blake opted to upgrade the car to a 6 Speed Transmission and associated driveline components to avoid the 5 speed pitfalls expected with the power the new engine will generate. The car is currently sporting a run in tune and will soon be tweaked to higher power outputs. Target power for the built motor and turbo combo is 280 awkw running on 98 fuel. Blake has plans to convert to E85 in the future when availability is expanded. Braking has also been looked after with a Brembo Front & Rear upgrade including drilled and slotted rotors. The calipers were overhauled and a fresh coat of minty green 2 pack added to make them really pop. In the handling department Blakes Foz rides on BC BR Coilovers courtesy of Ichiban Imports and Whiteline F & R sways with matching end links.
